Analog TV Simulator ("the app") is developed and published by Ambor. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.
The app does not collect, transmit, or store personal information during normal use. Specifically:
The only exception is the optional feedback form described below, which transmits information only when you explicitly choose to send feedback.
The app requests access to your device camera and photo library solely to provide its core simulation features. All image processing happens entirely on your device using the GPU. No camera frames or photos are saved, uploaded, or shared at any time.
The app requests your approximate location solely to display local weather on the Teletext weather pages. Location data is passed to Apple WeatherKit to retrieve a forecast; it is not stored by the app, not transmitted to Ambor, and not shared with any other third party. If you deny location permission, the weather pages show a placeholder instead. Location is never accessed in the background.
The app requests read-only access to your calendar solely to display the current month and upcoming events on the Teletext calendar page. Calendar data is read on-device and never leaves your device.
The app requests access to your music library solely to display the currently playing track on the Teletext now-playing page. No listening history, library contents, or playback data are stored or transmitted.
The Teletext headlines feature fetches news headlines from an RSS feed, by default TechCrunch, or a custom feed URL entered by the user. When this feature is active, the app makes a direct HTTPS request to the feed server. The request contains no personal information; only the device's IP address is visible to the feed server as part of a standard HTTP request. Headlines are displayed as short text strings; no article body content is stored or retained beyond the current session. If you configure a custom RSS feed, the privacy practices of that feed's provider apply.
Weather data is provided by Apple WeatherKit. When weather pages are active, the app sends your approximate location to Apple's servers to retrieve a forecast. Apple's data practices are described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
The app includes an optional feedback form accessible from the menu. If you choose to submit feedback, the following information is transmitted to Ambor:
Feedback is transmitted over HTTPS to a Cloudflare Worker and delivered to the developer's inbox. It is not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not linked to any persistent user identity. If you do not provide an email address your feedback is completely anonymous.
All signal simulation (composite encoding, decoding, and CRT rendering) runs entirely on your device. Network requests are made only by the Teletext feature (news headlines and weather), and by the feedback form when you explicitly submit it.
The website at analogtv.net is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may log standard web server data (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) as part of its infrastructure operation. This data is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Other than the optional community preset gallery described below, we do not receive or store personally identifiable visitor data from this website.
The website offers an optional community gallery where users submit and download AnalogTV "look" preset files. It is entirely optional and requires no account.
When you submit a preset, the preset's settings together with the name and description you provide are stored and published publicly on the site. A one-way hashed form of your IP address (an HMAC that cannot be reversed to your address) is stored solely to rate-limit submissions and reports and to manage abuse, your raw IP address is not stored. Submitted content is validated and sanitised before storage. Only submit presets that are yours to share and that contain no personal or offensive content.
Submitted presets are public and may be downloaded by anyone. Content may be hidden or removed at our discretion, including automatically after multiple user reports. To request removal of a preset, use the contact method below.
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from any users. The Teletext headlines feature displays live news content from an RSS feed (default: TechCrunch), which may include references to world events unsuitable for young children. Parents should be aware of this when allowing children to use the Teletext source.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised date.
Questions about this policy can be directed via the in-app feedback form (tap the menu → Send Feedback) or through the App Store review section for Analog TV Simulator.
